General Meeting of Storm Lake Heights Homeowners Association
February 22, 2015 – 4:00 p.m.
The General Meeting of the Storm Lake Heights Homeowners Association was called to order by President Tim Hastings at 4:10 p.m. The meeting was held at Salem Woods Elementary Gymnasium in Monroe, Washington. Secretary Kristin Michaud and Treasurer Andrew Ellis were present. Thirty-Five (35) lots were represented at this meeting, either in person or by proxy vote, and as such, a quorum was declared.
Old Business:
SLH Playground Equipment and Repair.
Emily and Del Bennett presented a number of color posters depicting choices for a replacement playground above or below the budgeted amount of $27,550.00. A lengthy discussion was held.
VOTE RESULT: TWO votes were received to replace the equipment at over the budgeted amount. SEVENTEEN votes were received to replacement the equipment not to exceed the budgeted amount. FIVE votes were received to remove the existing structure and replace with grass within the budgeted amount.
A committee will be formed to make a decision on the replacement play area. Emily Bennett, Donna Clawson, Courtney Evans, and Michelle Riske all volunteered to be on this Committee. The Committee will be headed up by SLH Board President Tim Hastings.
Board Elections. The offices of HOA Secretary and Treasurer were up for election. Nominations were taken from the floor.
VOTE RESULT:
Kristin Michaud was re-elected to another term as Secretary. Andrew Ellis was re-elected to another term as Treasurer.
HOA Dues Reminder. Homeowners dues are now due. If you haven’t already, please send in your payment. They will be considered late, and fees assessed, after March 31st. Paper notices will go out in the next couple weeks for those who have not yet paid. Thank you to everyone who already sent in their payments. The dues remain at $400.00 a year.
New Business:
Architecture Control & Compliance (ACC) Committee. New members, including a Chairperson, were sought on the ACC Committee. Donna Clawson volunteered to Chair this committee. Monique Rounsavalle and Andrew Gormley also volunteered to serve.
2015-2016 Budget. Andrew presented the proposed 2015-2016 Budget. Discussion was had about the reserve fund, landscaping, and improvements to the front entrance.
VOTE RESULT: The proposed 2015 budget was approved.
The meeting was adjourned by HOA President Tim Hastings at 5:30 p.m.
