Hello fellow neighbors,
As you know it's that time of the year again where we have our annual meeting. This year there are positions that have become open and a position that I would like to see open on the Board.
I would like to see the position of Vice President be utilized - in the ByLaws under Article 3 Board of Directors section 3.1 Number and Qualifications...it states "The affairs of the Association shall be governed by the Board of not fewer then Three (3) nor more then Seven (7) directors...." and I know we have only had the Three (3) positions (President, Secretary, and Treasure) filled in the past so moving forward I think we should utilized the positions set forth in theByLaws. In the ByLaws the position of Vice-President is already defined as such " the Vice President shall perform the duties of the President when the President is absent or unable to act and shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board" -- with that being said I would like to put in motion that the position of Vice-President be filled.
I would like your consideration for the position of Vice-President- the Board this past session has accomplished a great deal for the benefit of the homeowners, among them being the accusation of a much more reliable Internet service. I think however, I have allot to being to the board, I am a very social community oriented individual with fresh new ideas. I would like to increase the feeling of community that we as homeowners have in our neighborhood. I would like to open up regular meetings of the Board to interested homeowners, I would like to bring back more actives that involve the families and allow us all to get to know each other better.
Additionally, our Presidents term of office is over and I would like to introduce you to somebody that I think would be an excellent candidate, Tim Hastings. Here are a few words from Tim about himself:
Hello,
I would like to virtually introduce myself. My name is Tim Hastings. I am seeking your vote as the president of the homeowners association. Since many of you don’t know me I will give you a little of my background. I am originally from Amarillo, Texas, and have spent the last 24 years in Kansas. My wife, Tanya and son, Dalon transferred to Washington with the Boeing Company last June. I have a beautiful daughter who blessed me with 5 wonderful grandchildren in Texas. I have always been very active in my community and neighborhood association. I was the treasurer, member of the architecture board, and one of the founding members of the Whispering Lakes Association in Wichita, Kansas, giving up my role due to moving here. We literally started from scratch, developing by-laws, negotiating and contracting services, but more importantly building trust with homeowners.
I understand the leadership, commitment, communication, and business acumen it takes to keep an association like this strong and vibrant. I hold an Executive Master of Business degree, backed with a Bachelor in Organizational Management and Leadership. Besides holding a leadership role at Boeing for the last 20 years, I owned a handyman service which allowed me to understand all aspects of a house, and worked side-by-side with builders and developers which required me to understand many state and city codes and regulations.
We have a beautiful neighborhood and along with your help we can do what is needed for our association. I look forward to meeting you and answering any questions about me or entertaining your many thoughts and ideas to better our community.
Thank you.
Tim Hastings
